A light in the dark

(I still feel really stupid when typing the title...english isn't my native language so my art isn't also so the title shouldn't be an I'm just to uncreative and this doesn't makes sence)
In the last days I havn't really drawn anything. So yesterday I decidet I wanted to do something to get me back in the mood of creating and getting ideas and this thing plopped in my head. It shows one of my creatures and even if this might look evil it really isn't.
It's more abstrakt. The black "spikes" are meant to be the feathers and they're supposed to look like this.
I have no idea. I think I just wanted to throw this people in the face who don't really care about the background of a drawing they just see it and say "Oh my gosh what an evil creature" when this (I still don't have a name) "thing" is actually protecting and good.
And I love drawing in this kind of format. The compositions you get a amazing. (:
If you wonder about the singhs on the sides. They don't mean anything. I though about adding chinese sings but this would've taken sooo much time and I already spend a lot more time than I envisioned I just went with the "throw in in and pray that it looks good method" XD
